Partial Hospitalization Program in Columbus, Ohio
PHP gives you the structure and clinical support of inpatient care while you sleep at home. Start building a stable recovery without putting your life completely on hold.

What Is PHP
What a Partial Hospitalization Program Actually Looks Like
PHP is the most intensive level of outpatient care we offer at Crown.
A Partial Hospitalization Program is designed for people who need daily clinical support but do not require an overnight hospital stay. You come in for structured programming several hours a day, work with a treatment team, and return home in the evening.
PHP sits between inpatient residential treatment and standard Intensive Outpatient. It is the right level of care when you need more than a few hours of weekly therapy but are stable enough to live outside a medical facility. At Crown Behavioral Health in Columbus, PHP is built around your progress, not a fixed calendar.
Who PHP Is For
Signs That PHP May Be the Right Level of Care
PHP is a strong fit for people at several different points in recovery.
You may be a good candidate for PHP if you are stepping down from inpatient or detox and need continued daily structure, or if your symptoms are severe enough that weekly outpatient therapy has not been enough.
If you are unsure whether PHP is the right fit, our admissions team will walk you through your options at no cost.
Co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, or trauma
A recent relapse after a period of sobriety
Instability at home or high-risk triggers that require more daily accountability
Difficulty maintaining safety or functioning without close clinical support
Daily Schedule
A Day in PHP: What to Expect Each Week
Structure is one of the most powerful tools in early recovery.
PHP at Crown Behavioral Health runs Monday through Friday and typically involves five to six hours of programming per day. Each day is built around evidence-based group therapy, individual counseling, psychoeducation, and skill-building sessions.
You return home in the evening, which means you can maintain family routines, attend to responsibilities, and practice what you are learning in real life each day.
Morning check-in and community group
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group sessions
Psychoeducation on topics like relapse prevention, coping skills, and managing triggers
Individual therapy sessions with your assigned clinician
Medication management check-ins as needed
Discharge planning and daily goal review
Typical Length of Stay
How Long PHP Lasts Is Based on Your Progress
There is no fixed program length at Crown. Your care moves at your pace.
Most clients participate in PHP for two to four weeks before stepping down to Intensive Outpatient. That timeline is not fixed. Some people need more time to stabilize, and others progress more quickly. Your treatment team reviews your progress regularly and adjusts your plan based on your clinical needs and personal goals.
When you are ready, we will work with you to transition into IOP or standard outpatient care so that your recovery stays supported through every stage.
